Understanding the composition of your child:

Spirit: What does God say about your child? “I have called you by your name, you are mine.”

Soul: Will, thinking and emotions: Understand the importance of thinking and the programming of your child’s brain; as well as emotions and the development of emotional intelligence.

Body: Healthy exercise and performances.

What does identity consist of?

Blueprint programming:
Parents teach children 90% through their actions. Parents program their children through their own blueprint that is formed over years. Their own perceptions of life and what life has taught them, what they consider to be right and wrong, good or bad, beautiful or ugly, etc. Parents’ emotional baggage will have an impact on the programming of the child’s brain.

Emotional experiences and programming:
Each situation contains an experience, a perception and emotions. These situations are stored in the subconscious mind and the brain will always use them as a reference.

Spiritual experiences and programming:
Tradition (Bible reading and prayer) versus a love relationship with God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

Three phases of child rearing:

0-7 years
Cognitive development – Mainly basic knowledge.
Emotional development – The parent’s own emotional state of mind are transferred to the child involuntarily.  Every situation will be captured in the subconscious mind.
Spiritual - Your guidance and mentoring of your relationship with Jesus Christ will be the child's foundation on which the child can build his/her own relationship one day.

7-12 years
Cognitive – The practice of principles and character forming.
Emotional development – Same as above, with the exception of teaching them emotional intelligence
Spiritual – The child’s own experience of  having a relationship with Jesus Christ.
The most important part during this phase is to know that the child will learn 90% through your example.

12 years – older
When a child reaches the age of 13, a parents upbringing should in reality be completed and the focus can now be on the relationship.  The key to success here lies in fact that the child should take responsibility for his/her own life.

The question every parent should be able to answer is:
Was I successful, or am I successful and if not, what can I do to change it?
